Designed by Pierogiorgio in collaboration with Michele Cazzaniga for
MDF Italia, this single-material table impresses not only for its ability to hold itself in tension, allowing it to be made in exceptional dimensions, but also for its technical regularity and great aesthetic lightness. The particularity of this table from
MDF Italia is already indicated by its name,
Tense, which means 'tension' in English. Different inner layers of the tabletop produce perfectly flat, oversized surfaces without the need for an intermediate support. The extremely thin 35 mm top is a panel constructed from an internal aluminium profile frame, which is filled with polystyrene or a honeycomb structure and fitted with two sheets of aluminium. For example, the
Tense table collection is characterised by great technological innovation and the ability of the components to remain in a state of tension. The 35x35 mm-section steel legs are also coated with this resin. The choice of materials and innovative technology make it possible to build large trays that remain light and flat.
Tense is a sleek and functional table, representing the main concept of the table idea to many different spaces, both residential and professional. In fact,
MDF Italia publishes an elegant table with a sober, uncluttered design to fit perfectly into your dining room or for professional use. What's more, the
Tense table comes with refined little extras like two openings and housings for cable management, as well as two caches. The monochrome, single-material look of
Tense gives an impressively light feel despite the dimensions it can take on.
