Description

Designed by Draga & Aurel for Baxter Made in Italy, Marilyn is an elegant and comfortable armchair. It consists of a rigid matte black lacquered frame and a swivel base made of matt black lacquered metal. The seat and back of the Marilyn armchair from Baxter Made in Italy are upholstered in polyurethane foam with an acrylic fibre cover covered in washed and sterilised goose down. The decorative piping is in the same shade of leather as the seat and back. The Marilyn armchair will stand out in your interior thanks to its curves and choice of leathers in a variety of colours.

DRAGA & AUREL

Founded in 2007 in the city of Como, Italy, Draga & Aurel is a multidisciplinary design studio working along the spectrum of furniture, textiles and interior design. Draga Obradovic began her career in the fashion industry, working first in London and Milan as a textile designer before finally settling in Como. Aurel K. Basedow graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan with a degree in Fine Art, having trained as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.Thanks to their friendly methods, combined with an artist's approach to materials and composition, Draga & Aurel are widely recognised for their clever reinvention of bespoke vintage design pieces. The Salone del Mobile 2009 introduced the duo to the world stage, and partnerships with Italian leather manufacturer Baxter, wallpaper brand Wall&Deco and leading American fashion retailer Anthropologie have taken the duo's field beyond the reinvention of singular vintage pieces.

Baxter's story began with a passion for leather. Based in Lurago D’Erba, leading designer of luxury handcrafted furniture, Baxter, became the world's first ambassador for "Made in Italy". Baxter unites traditional craftsmanship with experience and creative energy that has developed and grown over time, nurtured by an endless passion for beautiful, well-designed, well-thought-out and well-made objects that aim to convey emotion. Baxter is a family business. Its various products, such as its sofas, armchairs, beds and tables, stand out thanks to the use of refined materials combining quality, culture and elegance. Baxter uses high-quality leather treated with the best techniques to preserve the finest details.
