Harry Bertoia experimented with bending metal rods into functional sculptures in 1952. The result is a collection of chairs that have become design icons, spanning five decades without a single wrinkle. The Asymmetrical chair remained at the prototype stage until recently. Sculptural and elevated, this armchair is considered a masterpiece of mid-twentieth century experimental furniture. The frame and seat are made of welded chrome steel rods. It is available with a red hopsack cover. The
Knoll logo is engraved on the chair's base.
