Description
The A Tempo dish drainer is made from 18/10 stainless steel with a thermoplastic resin cutlery drainer. It is part of the collection of the same name, designed by Pauline Deltour in 2010 for the Italian publisher Alessi. The use of steel wire for this object has created a drainer that is both visually light and highly functional, thanks to its simple, ingenious shape that accommodates all the crockery in the kitchen. The A Tempo collection is characterised by a crescendo of rhythm and movement that produces some very surprising and refined optical effects.
Born in 1983 in Landerneau, France, Pauline Deltour studied art and applied design at ENSAAMA in Paris and holds a diploma in industrial design from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD). Between 2006 and 2009, she was project manager at Konstantin Grcic's Industrial Design studio in Munich, where she opened her own studio in 2009. Since 2010, she has been working in Paris on a variety of projects: industrial products, furniture for public spaces, jewellery, etc. Among other things, she has created a collection of kitchen utensils called "A Tempo", published by Alessi, characterised by the use of steel wire. Pauline Deltour also works with major brands such as Tacchini and Muji.

ALESSI
In 1921, Giovanni Alessi founded the Italian company Alessi. Since 1929, the company has focussed on producing nickel- or silver-plated copper tableware. When Carlo Alessi, Giovanni's son, was appointed design director in 1935, handcrafting methods were replaced by industrial manufacturing. In 1955, the company began collaborating with world-renowned architects and designers such as Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, and later, Philippe Starck and Marcel Wanders. Alessi makes design accessible by focussing on useful, humorous and visually appealing home accessories. Most of its products have become design classics that are sold and exhibited around the world.
