Description

Designed by Francesco Binfaré for the Edra brand, Chiara is an elegant, comfortable and versatile armchair, thanks to the "intelligent" cushion inserted into the backrest. The base, equipped with a swivel system, is made of tubular and extruded steel. The armchair upholstery is available in fabric, velvet or leather in the colours of the Edra collection. The 'smart' cushion can be tilted in any direction, forward or backward, providing exceptional comfort. With its chrome-plated base that reflects the floor, the armchair seems almost suspended in the air. Simple and elegant, pure and timeless, Chiara by Edra fits in with any style of space.

Francesco BINFARÉ

Francesco Binfaré was born in Milan, Italy, in 1939. After completing his artistic training under his father, he began working for Cassina in 1960, initially as a researcher for new technologies and then as Cesare Cassina's assistant for new projects and later for the production of prototypes. From 1969 to 1976, he was director of Centro Cassina and was responsible for the creation of design classics such as "Up 5" by Gaetano Pesce (1969) and "AEO" by Paolo Deganello (1973). In 1980, he set up the Centro design e comunicazione to develop projects. After leaving Cassina in 1991, Francesco Binfaré designed seats that have become design icons such as the matching "L'Homme et la Femme" (1993), Tangeri (1994) and Angels (1996) sofas for Edra; the "Girotonda" armchair in 1994 and the "Grand'angolo" sofa in 1995 for Adele C.
