Description
True to its design philosophy, which often defies the rules of geometry, Nendo has designed Ring, a family of five tables that plays with contrasts between straight lines and curves. The light metal structure of Ring is defined by orthogonal lines interrupted by rings placed in different positions. In addition to breaking with the geometric regularity of the shape, the circles, depending on the size of the table, become connecting or supporting elements. The eye is drawn to the void at the centre of the rings in the Ring collection, which gives a feeling of space and lightness. The metal frame, in Light Bronze, Copper or Black-Nickel, is available in different sizes. Edited by Minotti, the Ring coffee and occasional tables are complemented by an oval or circular top in a range of diameters, customisable in bronzed glass, Calacatta marble or liquorice-coloured brushed ash.

NENDO
Born in Toronto in 1977, Oki Sato is the head of the famous Nendo design studio. After studying architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo, he founded the Japanese studio in 2002. Nendo means "modelling clay" and represents flexibility and the possibility of perpetual reinvention. In 2005, a second studio was opened in Milan. Oki Sato's philosophy is to create little 'Wow' moments in everyday life. His desire to convey the way people interact with objects is reflected in minimalist forms with a singular character. "With our creations, we want to add something extra. That little detail that catches the eye and creates an emotion. His work has been exhibited at the MoMa in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He works with some of the biggest names in design, including Cappellini, De Padova, Moroso and BoConcept. The poetry of his installations contributes to his international reputation. Sobriety is always present in his creations, which are not without a touch of humour. The resulting purity is in keeping with Japanese tradition. Oki Sato took up the challenge of making design accessible to everyone. He was voted Designer of the Year several times, in 2012 by Wallpaper Magazine and Elle Deco, and in 2015 at Maison & Objet.
