Published by cc-tapis, the Bliss tapis collection features a sculptural three-dimensional effect that was initially inspired by Mae Engelgeer's experiments around round and curved shapes. This work comes after a period when the designer worked solely with straight lines and, ending up feeling enclosed by them, feeling a need to use bolder shapes. Keeping in mind the playfulness of the Memphis movement and mixing patterns and shapes with different production techniques, the Bliss collection was born. The use of Himalayan wool and silk, combined with the approach to shape and colour, creates unique effects of brilliance and depth. Published by cc-tapis, each rug is made entirely by hand in Nepal.

CC-TAPIS

CC-Tapis is an Italian company that manufactures hand-woven contemporary rugs created in Nepal by Tibetan master craftsmen. In 2011, CC-Tapis moved to Milan, where the company is now based. Its artistic director and partner, Daniele Lora, leads a team of designers there that innovate through a new approach to traditional methods. Weighty respect for the materials and culture of the ancestral profession is reflected in CC-Tapis’s environmentally-friendly approach at every stage of production, from spinning the softest Himalayan wool to using purified rainwater. Patricia Urquiola designed the "Visioni" collection for CC-Tapis: a 2-piece series featuring geometric shapes and soft colours.
