The iconic Bestlite BL4 edited Gubi lamp, designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, was first adopted by garages and technical departments of the Royal Air Force because of its great functionality and adjustable arm. Public demand for Bestlite lamps quickly followed and when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, Bestlite's iconic status was achieved. This contemporary classic is now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. The Bestlite design remains close to its industrial roots and true to its original design. With its many finishes, the BL4 floor lamp from Gubi is perfectly suited as a reading lamp in any contemporary home where extra character is required.
