The Fatboy brand was created in 1998 by Finnish designer Jukka Setälä and Dutch designer Alex Bergmana.
In 1998, Finnish designer Jukka Setälä and designer Alex Bergman listened to "Edgy" by the band Fatboy Slim. Shortly after, Jukka Setälä imagined and designed THE modern-day bean bag. Huge, soft with an oversized label and fun. The Fatboy bean bag became the infamous "Original Fatboy" and gained worldwide popularity. The "playful" designer brand became a design icon thanks to its hero product, the Fatboy bean bag. Rolled out in about twenty colours, it became an absolute must-have, and marked the beginning of the Fatboy adventure.
