Description

Created by designer Ross Lovegrove, the New Nature floor lamp has organic shapes and seems to have come straight from an unknown natural source. The thermoplastic column diffuses light through a cut-out pattern of free geometrical shapes, casting patterns on the walls and floor like a beam of light. The main LED indirect emission is placed on the upper part of the lamp. The LED diffused emission is located on the base, highlighting the interior of the column and its three-dimensional shape. The two light sources can be operated separately. This original and innovative lamp, produced by Artemide, will elegantly enhance a living room or bedroom.

Ross LOVEGROVE

Né à Cardiff, il est diplômé de l'Ecole Polytechnique de Manchester avec la 1ère Design Class Hons BA en 1980, puis maître de la conception du Royal College of Art à Londres en 1983. Ross Lovegrove travaille pour Frog Design en Allemagne, au début des années 80, puis en tant que consultant pour Knoll International à Paris. Il est invité à rejoindre l’Atelier de Nimes aux côtés de Jean Nouvel et Philippe Starck comme consultant. Ross Lovegrove se passionne pour les matériaux, du polyamide au magnésium moulé par injection. Dès 1986, il accélère ses projets en collaborant avec des grandes marques : Kartell, Moroso, Cappellini, Vitra ou encore Artemide avec la suspension Mercury ou le lampadaire Cosmic Leaf. Son approche humaine et ingénieuse le pousse à effectuer des recherches expérimentales où le design s’allie à l’architecture, la science et la technologie, avec l’appui du numérique. Inspiré par la logique et la beauté de la nature, son langage entre technologie innovante et formes organiques lui permet d’être récompensé par de nombreux prix internationaux et de voir ses œuvres exposées dans des musées dont le Moma de New York ou encore le Vitra Design Museum de Weil Am Rhein. Designer visionnaire, ses luminaires prennent des allures cosmiques, conciliant aérodynamisme, ergonomie et poésie, futurisme et sensualité.

ARTEMIDE

In 1959, Ernesto Gismondi combines engineering and design and founds Artemide. His motto “The Human Light” represents Man and his well-being, which are at the center of attention during the design of lighting. The brand Artemide very quickly becomes the leader of lighting design and its manufacturing. The publishing house Artemide invests from its beginnings in international groups such as “Memphis” by Ettore Sotsass, a forerunner in the manufacturing of contemporary lighting. Artemide chains collaborations and the successes multiply with: the Nessino Artemide lamp, designed by Giancarlo Mattioli, the Artemide suspension, and the Artemide desk lamp is also part of these iconic creations by Artemide, combining innovative design and retro style from the 70s.
