Esteemed for his researched and controlled approach to materials, Italian architect, sculptor and designer Angelo Mangiarotti has created the Aida lamp that almost defies gravity with its visual disconnect between base and shade and pleasant ambient light. Referring to the principles of his acclaimed architecture, where slender, elegant pillars support large, heavy ceilings in an almost impossible lift, Mangiarotti designed the beautifully balanced silhouette of Aida for Karakter.
