Floor Lamp 9602 Bamboo GUBI

Originally developed for the Aulanko Hotel in 1935, the lamp 9602 is one of Paavo Tynell's most famous creations. Gubi is re-releasing this floor lamp in 2018, also known as the "Chinese hat".  The charm of this floor lamp comes from its elegant shade and its rattan-covered stem. The 9602 floor lamp represents Paavo Tynell's imagination and ingenuity in creating lasting beauty. The playful shape of the lampshade combined with the more static shape of the base creates a soft light for the living room. For this version of the floor lamp 9602, bamboo slats are sewn together to form a pleated surface, which is then hand-sewn onto a linen lining, and fixed to a wire frame. This process allows the lampshade to create a luminous pattern as the light passes through the bamboo slats, bringing a warm ambience to the room.
