cc-tapis launches the
Les Arcs collection by French designer and architect
Charlotte Perriand, featuring five new carpet designs and a never-before-seen archive in a global exhibition curated by Dan Thawley, editor of 'A magazine curated by'.
Tucked away in
Charlotte Perriand's archives in Paris, six previously unpublished colour studies originally conceived for a series of woven opening panels come to life for the first time as a
collection of hand-knotted rugs by
cc-tapis. Taking its name from the Pierre Blanche building at the Les Arcs 1600 ski resort in the French Alps, "
Les Arcs" is a project to which
Charlotte Perriand devoted 20 years of her life.
After more than 50 years, in January 2023, Pernette Perriand Barsac and
cc-tapis present the
Les Arcs carpet collection, respecting the colour proportions defined by
Charlotte Perriand in her technical drawings.
Made from 100% Himalayan wool by
cc-tapis artisans in Nepal,
Les Arcs reproduce the original designs in 3 sizes and 12 assorted shades - from light 'antelope' brown and 'bee' yellow to bright 'admiral' blue and 'azalea' pink. A testament to
Charlotte Perriand's lifelong passion for craftsmanship.
