Designed by Superstudio between 1969 and 1972 and produced by Zanotta from 1972, the Quaderna collection is recognised as a manifesto of radical design.
In 1969, the Superstudio group worked on the "Istogrammi": objects constructed on the basis of a spatial mesh with an orthogonal pattern, adaptable to different scales. The theory of the Istogrammi led to the theory of an infinite world of objects to be invented, ranging from the purely flat surface to furniture and architecture.
Hand-tufted, the Quaderna rug features a 100% New Zealand wool surface. The bottom support is made of 100% cotton canvas, fixed with 100% natural latex glue. The border of the rug is handmade with wool yarn on all six sides.
