The
Toio floor lamp with indirect light is a 1962 creation by the
brothers Castiglioni, now produced by the Italian house
Flos. It has become an icon of
design and is featured in the MOMA collection. The base of the
Toio floor lamp is made from cut and bent steel, the structure from profiled steel, all covered in liquid paint. It features a telescopic stem with a nickel-plated brass hexagonal section, enabling the height to be adjusted between 158cm and 195cm. An electronic dimmer is attached to the cable and enables light intensity to be gradually adjusted. This
stand lamp Toio features a strong contrast between the lightness of its stem and the diameter of the headlight, and a resolutely industrial look. This industrial "sculpture" provides effective ambient lighting in a hallway or living room.
