Description
Edited by Gubi, the chair C-Chair is now available in a version suitable for outdoor dining. Designed in 1947, the Chair C-Chair is one of Marcel Gascoin's best-known pieces. It represents not only the aesthetic and practical power of Gascoin's creations, but also the social conscience he demonstrated throughout post-war France. The C-Chair was originally created out of necessity to fit the new dimensions of houses built at the end of the Second World War, where Gascoin filled the lack of space by creating simple, functional furniture. Intelligently designed with great attention to detail, the C-Chair has an elegant shape while being robust and rooted in a simple, minimal and strong design language.
For this outdoor version, the Chair C-Chair combines a teak frame, a naturally durable and resistant material, with a waterproof braided rope, made from polyethylene, and worked to capture the look of natural rope. The naturally oiled teak allows the chair to remain outdoors even in the harshest climates, without the need for additional treatment. Over time, it will develop a beautiful patina.
Created by Lisbeth and Olsen Gubi, the brand Gubi is a Danish company that has been re-editing some of the greatest design classics since 1967. Based in the docks of Copenhagen, the Gubi headquarters spans 2000 square meters in a former tobacco factory, now renovated into a vast modern loft-style showroom. One of the iconic pieces of the Gubi brand is the Pacha armchair. This armchair by Pierre Paulin embodies the innovative spirit and timeless elegance of Gubi. The Gubi chairs are renowned for their innovative design and exceptional comfort, seamlessly blending contemporary aesthetics with functionality. These iconic pieces evoke emotions and tell meaningful stories, making them both timeless and enduring.
