Designed by Christophe Pillet for Emu, Round is a collection that makes the search for structural balance and the discretion of its lines the characteristics for interpreting a sought-after and, at the same time, uncluttered outdoor space. Round favours round shapes for the seats, on which to sit under the sign of the most absolute comfort. The Round collection includes chairs with or without armrests and tables to create the outdoor dining space that's right for you. With its two extension leaves, theexpandable Round table can easily seat 6 to 10 people.
Studying decorative arts in Nice, Christophe Pillet discovered his vocation as a designer after reading an article about Memphis. He went to Milan for three years to do his master's at the Domus Academy and saw his Baby lamp published in the last Memphis collection in 1988. After 5 years with Philippe Starck, he opened his own agency in Paris in 1993. Clarity of expression, a quest for simplicity and economy of line characterise the elegance of his work as a designer (furniture, packaging, tableware, etc.) and also as a set designer and interior architect (Sezz hotels, Ménudier, Malandrino, Lacoste, Silvera, RBC showrooms, etc.). His Round garden seats and tables for Emu explore the potential of drawn sheet metal and nickel mesh on a tubular frame.

EMU
Founded in 1951, Emu is one of the first companies in the world to develop and patent a lamination technique for metal components to ensure high resistance to various atmospheric agents. Emu became the leading brand in garden furniture in the 80s. The brand has collaborated with the most talented international designers such as Jean-Marie Massaud, who designed the Heaven collection, where metal is worked like fabric. Designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Christophe Pillet couldn't resist the brand’s appeal either. The Arc en Ciel chairs and tables are one of the brand's must-have pieces.
