Thebench coffee table BM0488L, designed by Børge Mogensen in 1958, is being relaunched by Carl Hansen & Son as part of a growing collection of works by the celebrated Danish architect and designer. Versatile, timeless and carefully crafted, the BM0488L coffee table was originally created to complement the BM0865 bed. The multifunctional room is part of Mogensen's 'building furniture' concept - durable furniture that can be added to and adapted over time in response to changing needs and living situations. Whether used as a bench in an entrance hall or at the end of a bed, or as a coffee table or occasional table, this freestanding piece exudes well-being wherever it is placed. The BM0488 coffee table, edited by Carl Hansen, is made from oak heartwood, the central part of the trunk, dense and flawless. The structure is skilfully crafted with traditional cabinet joints and rounded edges that are repeated in the legs and frame. Topped with a double-weave surface, the durable, decorative design will look great for generations.
