Description

The Karat Blau suspension by designer Axel Schmid and the Ingo Maurer brand is a unique, eye-catching piece. It's made up of a red metal structure, on which are suspended gold plaques that can be hung in portrait or landscape format, to suit individual tastes and create a very personal hanging space. Each 1000 Karat Blau gold screen is individually produced by hand in Japan. The very fine gold leaf is then cast into acrylic plates using a unique process. Thanks to a special gold-striking technique, the very fine gold leaf has a magnificent star-shaped pattern. The red of the stems and the blue of the point of light provide a superb contrast with the gold. The Karat Blau suspensions by Ingo Maurer are masterpieces that guarantee elegance and fascination.

INGO MAURER

Ingo Maurer was an ambitious German designer who founded his own lighting company in 1963. One of his first creations developed in 1966, Bulb, was an instant succes which saw the lamp featured at the MoMA in New York. Creations by the designer and his team resemble bright works of art that bring a poetic touch to your interior. Each of Ingo Maurer's designs transforms light into art: the Lucellino table lamp with its winged light bulb ensures sweet dreams in bedrooms, while the Zettel pendant light sets the tone in hallways.
