Originally imagined for the new French high-speed train sets, the
TGV lamp was designed by Ionna Vautrin at the request of SNCF (the French national railway company). A strong emblem for train travel, this light combines seductive curves and geometric rationality. The TGV lamp's comfortable light and simple design are a constant presence wherever the train traveller decides to sit. From the platform, where it greets passengers behind the glass windows, and throughout the journey, the
TGV light is an element with a domestic character, a promise of comfort "just like home". SNCF and
Moustache have pooled their skills to give birth to a
TGV lamp to install in our interiors. Made of injected aluminium using the industrial equipment developed for fitting new TGVs, the home model of the lamp is identical to the ones you will see around you during your train journey. The only difference is that ballast has been added within the lamp body to ensure perfect stability and a screw system has been created under the base, so you can attach the lamp firmly in specific places like restaurants, hotels and public spaces.
