Standing Lamp by Valerie Objects is a continuation of the suspended luminaires presented by Muller Van Severen at their very first exhibition, for Valerie Objects. These lamps are based on the same concept, which brings simple, colourful designs to interior spaces. Similar to the hanging lamp, Standing Lamp consists of virtually nothing more than a curved, flowing line with a bulb attached to its end. Since this object has to rest on the floor, two small lines have been added, becoming the lamp's feet. On the one hand, the design doesn't attract too much attention; on the other, its playfulness does. Standing Lamp comes in cheerful colours like green, blue and even curry. Discreet versions in black, grey and brass are also available.
Valerie Objects is a high-end Belgian design brand founded by Axel Van Den Bossche, CEO of the renowned design company Serax, and Veerle Wenes, owner of the iconic Valerie Traan design and art gallery. The mission of Valerie Objects is to enable extraordinary designers and artists to translate their signature style into tangible objects, aiming to reintroduce aesthetic value into the tools and items we use daily—essentially, restoring beauty to everyday objects. The design duo Muller Van Severen was the first to collaborate with Valerie Objects, and they are regarded as one of the most influential European designers today.
