Created by Vico Magistretti in 1967 and reissued by Tacchini, the Paola chair promises solidity, lightness, rigidity and softness. This elegant chair embodies tradition and modernity. The back legs of the Paola chair are angled and curved, stabilising the backrest. The front feet are softened by soft, rounded lines. With its geometric shapes, the Paola chair is both original and simple. The Paola chair from Tacchini offers a padded seat with leather or fabric upholstery.
Vico Magistretti was an Italian designer born in Milan in 1920 and died in his native city on 19 September 2006. He completed his architectural studies in 1945 and then joined his father's studio, where he took part in numerous architectural and design projects. His first professional recognition came in 1948, when he won the Grand Prix of the VIII Triennale. It was at the end of the 1950s that he created the Carimate wooden chair (for Cassina). Since then, Vico Magistretti has produced a string of bestsellers for major design houses including Artemide, Cassina, B&B Italia, O-Luce and Kartell. His work features in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art. His style is characterised by a search for simplicity. The Atollo lamp, created in 1977, with its almost abstract geometric simplicity, is emblematic of Magistretti's formal research. He teaches and lectures at a number of architecture faculties and design schools both in Italy and abroad, from Milan to New York, via Paris and London, a city with which he has particularly close links and where he has been an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art since 1983.

TACCHINI
Tacchini is an Italian designer furniture brand created in 1967 by Antonio Tacchini, at a time when Italian design was disrupting global design. It went on to become the leading institution in terms of quality and creativity. The strength of its concept is found at every step of Tacchini Italia's creative process. The brand goes so far as to explain this in their own words: "from the abstraction of thought to the three-dimensional nature of the object, to embody the essence of the home." A family business passed down the generations, Tacchini Italia is constantly progressing; it ensures ties with contemporary style, enhanced by the choice of high-quality materials and ever-improving technologies.
