Description
With Conscious BM3162, Mater has reimagined the chair designed in 1958 by the famous Danish designer and architect Børge Mogensen in a recycled edition, using a patented circular material. This is the first time that one of the designer's collections has been relaunched in a different material from the original. Developed by Mater, a sustainable, circular material made from recycled waste forms the seat and back of the chair.
This new material is made from a mixture of recycled fibre and plastic waste. Mater has developed this innovative technology to mould many types of furniture. This technique enables efficient recycling of industrial waste and, at the same time, reduces carbon emissions. The Conscious chair BM3162 is available in two versions: Coffee Waste and Wood Waste. The Coffee Waste version, available in two colours, is made from coffee waste from BKI's coffee roasting process, mixed with GROHE's recycled industrial plastic waste and recycled glass fibre. The Wood Waste version is made from sawdust mixed with GROHE's recycled industrial plastic waste and recycled glass fibre. The frame of the Conscious chair BM3162 is made from FSC-certified wood.
Variations in finish are possible, due to the use of recycled materials.
